About Neil
Originally from Bristol, Neil Parker studied Graphic Design at the Cardiff Institute of Higher Education and Illustration at the University of Plymouth in Exeter, before gaining UK recognition as a freelance illustrator.
He has now turned his attention to photography; a passion since teenage years in the mid 80’s where he first fell under the spell of photography and was able to pursue photographic studies at both Cardiff & Exeter art colleges, as a secondary subject concentrating on specific areas of film, studio and dark room techniques. His work these days is digital where he uses a Canon 5D mark II and a wide range of Canon L series lenses.
In recent years Neil has developed his passion for interesting and inspiring landscape work, Cityscapes, travel documentation and wildlife photography. Neil’s current research includes: Travel photography, including documentation of his recent trips to Asia (Sri Lanka & Japan) by capturing the colour, character and culture of both countries.
Photographic work to date includes commissions for Channel4 and 4Talent magazine. Neil has recently displayed his photographic work at a series of local exhibitions; Baristas coffee collective, Broadwalk Arts, and 'Grounded' café/bar here in Bristol and is currently involved with the Southbank Bristol Arts trail 2010 at the Tobacco factory in Bristol, and will soon be participating in the Bristol festival of photography 20th May – 9th June.
If you're interested in Neil’s photography and wish to purchase MDF block mounts, photographic prints, greeting cards or postcards please get in touch. Images are available for a range of commercial and/or editorial uses, or as beautifully framed artwork. Or alternatively if you would like to discuss any commissions with Neil, he has an extensive portfolio of other work available to view on request.
